Q: What are Community Education Office Hours?
A: Community Education office hours are from 9am to noon and 1 to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
Q: Who can attend Community Education classes?
A: Community Education classes are opened to everyone. We offer a rich array of workshops, classes and fun activities for you.
Q: Where do classes meet?
A: Classes meet on the three Community College campuses: Canada College in Redwood City, College of San Mateo in San Mateo and Skyline College in San Bruno as well as Community Centers and off-site locations.

Q: Are your classes handicapped-accessible?
A: Community Education makes its classes accessible to members of the disabled community. Handicapped parking is available on each campus. Before your class meets, please call CSM at (650) 574-6438, Canada at (650) 306-3259, or Skyline at (650) 738-4280 for information
Q: How do I register for classes?
A: Pre-registration is important since class sizes are limited and early registration may assure your place in a high demand class. You may register on-line, by mail, by phone or by fax.
On Line: Go to http://communityed.smccd.edu and click on Sign In. Create a new student profile, complete the form and Submit. After you have created your profile, click on Courses on the left menu and start shopping.
By Mail: Mail your registration form along with check, money order or credit card information to: Community Education, 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402
By Phone: Call (650) 574-6149 Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
By Fax: Fax your completed registration form (with credit card number and expiration date) to: Community Education at (650) 574-6104.
Q: What is your Refund Policy?
A: Requests for withdrawal from a class must be submitted in writing and received by the Community Education office at least five business days before the start date of the class to obtain a refund or credit voucher.
For credit: credit vouchers are valid for up to one year and are non-transferrable.
For refund: The refund, minus a $15 processing fee, will be issued within 4-6 weeks.
College for Kids policy: no refunds or credits.
Q: What about parking?
A: All persons driving motor vehicles onto the college campuses and utilizing parking facilities during regular class hours (Monday-Friday), are required to pay a parking fee. Parking permits are not required for weekend classes.
You may purchase a daily parking permit ($2) from permit vending machines in lot 1, 2, 3, and 10 at CSM. At Canada, permit machines are located in lot 3; on the right side of the main entrance road past the top of the hill, across from the gymnasium building; and in the tennis court parking lot. At Skyline, permit machines are located in lots 3, 5, and 8.
Note: Canada, CSM and Skyline Colleges and the SMCCC District Office are currently undergoing major construction projects. Parking in certain lots will be limited, and in some cases restricted. Please be aware that these projects and parking fees are subject to change.
Q: What about cancelled classes?
A: If a class is cancelled by Community Education, each participant in the class will be notified. It is not necessary to request a refund. A full refund will be mailed to you or credited to your account within approximately eight weeks of cancellation.
Q: What happens to my personal information?
A: The Community Education department is committed to protecting your privacy on-line. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. The Community Education Department may use the information collected to contact you regarding course information, promotional updates and specials.
